Co. Mayo, May 2024

My wife and I went on a week-long trip to County Mayo, staying on the mainland but a short drive to Achill Island. We rented a little cabin in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nothing but fields and hills.

First, a little stop in Newport for the night.

Then off to the cabin, near Mulranny.

Below is the view from around the cabin, and a nice bench we sat on to watch the sunrise and sunset every day.

First flying beach visit on Achill. This is Golden Strand on the north side of the island.

Sunny day, so we rented some bikes and died in the sunshine and the hills. First stop was Dooagh beach I believe.

Quick stop at the deserted village.

Bikes dropped off and back into the car to Keem beach.

And another nice sunset.

Up early and early lunch. Then view just over the bridge on Achill;
